The
Church:
The
Indian Pentecostal Church of God was founded by Pastor
K.E.Abraham in 1924 at
Mulakuzha,
Chengannur. Pastor. K. C. Cherian (Vettiya), Pastor. P.
M. Samuel (Keekozhur), Pastor. K. M. Zachariah (Punnakkad),
Pastor. K. C. Oommen (Kumbanadu) and Pastor. P. T. Varghese (Chettakal)
were his associates. By the end of 1926, the Church had
spread into Travancore, Cochin, Malabar, Madras Province,
Mysore State, Hyderabad State and
some places in North India. In 1934, the regional
representatives of the Church met at
Kumbanad and decided to delete the word "South" from the
name of the Church. The Church was registered with the
government of India under the Societies Act at
Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. There are
4,000 IPC Churches and more than five lakhs
people. General convention of the Church is held every year in
January at Kumbanad. |

The
Founder:
Pastor K.E.Abraham was born
on March 1, 1899 at Mulakuzha. At
the age of 16, he was baptised in water. On completing his
education at Chengannur, Abraham
began his career as a school teacher. In January 1924, Abraham
began the Pentecostal work in his native place,
Mulakazha. In May, 1930 he shifted
his residence from Mulakazha to
Kumbanad. Next month he started the
Hebron Bible School at Kumbanad. |
